vLBC
Unrivalled combination of capability, stability and versatility
The vLBV300 with crawler skid represents the ultimate in versatility with the ability to conduct traditional ROV inspections as well as crawler inspections. Like all SeaBotix ROVs, the vLBV300 with crawler skid is intuitive to operate in all modes.
ROV Mode
When in ROV mode (default) the vLBCoperates much the same as the traditionalvLBV. The intuitive hand controller provides all controls in one simple to use, ergonomically designed controller. Operators are able to conduct diverse types of free swimming ROV inspections such as harbors, wharfs, ship hull components, etc. Utilizing the core components from the vLBV provide added features such as powerful thrusters, auto functions, 270º field of view, information overlay and more greatly easing inspection tasks.
Attach Mode
When inspections warrant the attachment to a hard surface the vLBC easily transitions to facilitate attachment to the surface (such as a ship hull). To attach to a hard surface the operator pilots the vLBC close to the ship hull positioning either the port or starboard track close to the hull. Using the lateral function on the joystick the operator initiates the vLBC into a roll. Once the angle of the vLBC matches the angle of the ship hull the operator turns on the attractor which in turn sucks the vLBC to the ship hull. Once attached the operator can release controls with the vLBC staying firmly in position.
Crawler Mode
With the vLBC attached to the ship hull or other hard surface it can be driven rather than flown. The operator simply switches controls from ROV mode to Crawler mode which disables the horizontal thrusters and enables the powerful drive mechanism. With dual tracks, powerful motor/gearboxes and lots of torque the vLBC can tackle various obstacles and has a maximum speed of 40 m/min (131 ft/min).
Vortex VRAM
The Vortex VRAM makes the vLBC possible. With the patented design the VRAM produces a vortex effect creating a strong 28 kg f (62 pd f) of attraction. The incredibly small form factor has many benefits over larger less efficient ducted props and especially magnetic attractors. Magnetic attractors suffer from requiring the surface to be ferrous metal and relatively smooth due to the close proximity of the magnetic attractor. The VRAM can be spaced away from the surface allowing greater ground clearance while still maintaining a solid attachment

Features at a glance
Simplistic operation for all operators
Attachment to a ship hull is incredibly simple and mastered by many in a few minutes.
Ultimate in versatility
All of the advanced functionality and performance of the vLBV with an attachable skid for inspections on hard surfaces
Tracked drive mechanism
The tracked drive system provides a powerful and efficient means to travel across the hard surface.
Unrivalled combination of capability, stability and versatility
The patented Vortex Generator attractor produces an amazing 22 kgf (48 lbf) of attractive force while the tracked drive system produces a further 12 kgf (26 lbf) of pulling force. This powerful combination performs in demanding conditions where other systems fail.
Patented Vortex Generator
The Vortex Generator creates an amazing amount of attraction (28 kgf) in a low profile device.
Unmatched sensor data acquisition
With its ability to stay in one position indefinitely, the vLBC can acquire data unlike a free swimming ROV.
