DJI DOCK 4
DJI’s First Dock With Battery Swapping
DJI Dock 4, by DJI, keeps a drone ready for automated missions 24/7. A 25-second battery swap keeps the Matrice 5TD flying for urgent or continuous operations, while its cameras, radar, LiDAR and onboard AI cover inspection, security and emergency response, day or night. The DJI O4 Ground Station extends coverage to complex sites, and DJI FlightHub 2 manages every operation.
Rapid Response, Around the Clock
As soon as a task is issued, the dock opens and Matrice 5TD takes off, with no pilot needed on site. It flies straight to the scene at up to 21 m/s in FlyTo tasks, ahead of ground crews and regardless of traffic, and streams live video on arrival, at night, on weekends and on holidays alike.
Continuous Operations
A fully automatic battery swap takes 25 seconds instead of a 30-minute recharge, and the previous flight’s data transfers to the dock during the swap. Two aircraft in the same project can rotate automatically, one flying while the other stands by, for uninterrupted coverage during emergencies. The dock preheats batteries in the cold and switches on air conditioning in the heat.
Flexible Deployment for Complex Sites
Dock 4 is installed together with the DJI O4 Ground Station (required), which provides RTK positioning and connects the dock to DJI FlightHub 2 or third-party platforms over Ethernet or 4G (with the DJI Cellular Dongle 2). Together with LiDAR and visual SLAM positioning and anti-interference and anti-spoofing algorithms, this lets the dock operate where signal and positioning are difficult.
- Near High-Rise Buildings
Mounting the O4 Ground Station on a rooftop improves signal quality, so the dock can be installed beside tall buildings or along substation walls. Availability depends on region. - On Vehicles (Coming Soon)
The drone takes off while the vehicle is parked and lands at the next stop once the vehicle arrives. Expected in H1 2027. - Multi-Station Roaming
The drone switches seamlessly between multiple O4 Ground Stations, eliminating coverage blind spots.
Built-In Safety and Compliance
- DJI Parachute
Top-mounted, with independent power, full redundancy and automatic or manual deployment. With the DJI AP1 parachute fitted, Matrice 5TD meets EU C5 and C6 operational requirements (STS-01 and STS-02). - Custom Flight Zones
Enforced directly by the flight controller, they keep the drone inside its authorized area. - High-Wind Descent RTH
If winds pick up on the way back, Matrice 5TD descends and returns safely, even over mountains and forests.
Applications
Dock-as-first-responder programs and emergency response, site security, infrastructure and utility inspection, agriculture and mining.
Service and Support
Dock 4 and Matrice 5TD each come with the first year of DJI Care Enterprise Plus free. It covers repairs within the coverage limit, shared coverage across your fleet and expert technical support. One Drone, Day and Night
Matrice 5TD combines the capabilities of Matrice 4TD and Matrice 4D, so daytime inspection, night security and aerial surveying are handled by a single drone, with no airframe swaps between jobs.
- Telephoto
Reads signs from 400 m away and spots bolt- and pin-level defects on power lines from 100 m. - Infrared
Reveals overheating components and damaged insulators, with 2K recording. - Fusion Mode
Merges visible-light and infrared feeds into one frame, in edge or overlay mode, so structure outlines and heat distribution appear together. - Full-Color Night Vision
4K high-frame-rate night vision captures color images without the spotlight. In very low light, or paired with the NIR auxiliary light, it switches to black-and-white night vision. - Laser Ranging
Overlays distance and PinPoint coordinates on the live feed for power line inspection, rescue operations and wildfire estimates. - Onboard AI
Runs real-time detection on the live feed, including infrared hotspot detection, and supports third-party AI models.
Wire-Level Obstacle Sensing
Radar, LiDAR and low-light fisheye sensors work together to detect thin obstacles such as power lines, down to 11 mm wires, even at night or under city lights. Matrice 5TD can fly safely inside substations packed with live equipment or around crossing distribution lines.
Payloads and Accessories
- Multi-Payload Mounting
Side PSDK mounts and a top mount can be used at the same time. For example, you can carry a speaker, spotlight and parachute together for voice guidance and lighting during night searches. These accessories are sold separately and require the Matrice 5TD Accessory Mount. When the spotlight is on, visual obstacle sensing is turned off and only the radar and LiDAR stay active. - Third-Party Payloads
Three E-Port interfaces support third-party devices such as gas detectors and current-flow meters. - Built-In Warning Light
Supports custom colors and flash patterns, with no extra installation.
Specifications were measured by DJI in controlled test conditions and may vary with environment, usage and firmware. Some functions, such as mmWave radar, 4G and certain frequencies, may be restricted in some countries or regions.
Features
Below, you will find the main features of the product.
Low-Latency Livestream
A dedicated video transmission topology cuts drone-to-cloud latency to about 160 ms, down about 43% from the previous generation, for a smoother live view.
Anti-Interference Transmission
Dual 4G modules, sub2G transmission and O4 Ground Station deployed at an elevated position deliver stability in obstructed environments.
Alert to Action
When an anomaly is detected, the system sends SMS, email or platform alerts and can trigger snapshots, recording, tracking or hovering.
DJI Enterprise App
Handles on-site dock setup and configuration, and lets teams trigger tasks and view operations remotely from a phone.
AI Object Search
In the Virtual Cockpit, search for almost any object by text or image. A multimodal AI model interprets the request, finds the object and raises alerts.
FlightHub 2 Copilot
From drone control to flight commands, routes, and scheduled tasks, just describe it in natural language. FlightHub 2 Copilot turns your intent into drone commands.
Change Detection
AI compares historical aerial imagery to flag facility damage, ground changes and new unauthorized structures, then generates a change report, turning hours of frame-by-frame review into minutes.
Cockpit, Routes & Dashboard
Virtual Cockpit remote control, route editing, timeline task management, multi-channel live streams, and a unified dashboard bring the command center closer to the field.
Automated Workflows
Third-party alerts such as DFR calls, or a single tap in the DJI Enterprise app, dispatch the drone automatically. Scheduled workflows handle collection, modeling, analysis and reporting.
Airspace Awareness
Matrice 5TD picks up ADS-B signals from crewed aircraft and senses nearby drones. The O4 Ground Station can connect a third-party Remote ID receiver via MQTT, and third-party airspace services show restrictions and risks around the task area, all in FlightHub 2.
OpenAPI & FlightHub Sync
FlightHub Sync connects FlightHub 2 to other cloud platforms with no coding required. Developers can use the OpenAPI to integrate functions and 2D/3D modeling, cutting costs.
Cloud, On-Premises or All-in-One
DJI FlightHub 2 is available as a public-cloud service, an all-in-one appliance or an on-premises version, to suit different deployment and data security needs.
